Trench Warfare

Fall is here, and I could not be more excited! Sure, summer is great because it's warm all day and all night, there's no school, and it's always sunny, but fall is my favorite season. The weather, the leaves, HALLOWEEN!, and fall fashion all make me so happy.

Every year around this time I start looking at coats and jackets that I would love to own for the upcoming winter, even though I rarely ever buy them. I already have my lovely and cozy North Face goose-feather filled winter jacket, but I always crave a trench coat that I would be able to wear over nice clothes, not just jeans or sweats, and today I found it: Nordstrom's beautiful Tahari Asymmetrical Ruffle Trench. Now if only I could find somebody who would be willing to spend $198 on a coat for me...

Looking at this lucky model who gets to put it on fills me with so much envy that I swear this black trench coat is turning green before my very eyes!

Tote-ing yourself.

I was at an Illinois Broadcasters Association conference yesterday and everybody (myself included, thank god!) was dressed so sleek and professional-looking, and it inspired me to update my wardrobe in time for internship-season so that I can look the part of a young Public Relations professional.

There were many things I want to take home with me, and I would have posted them yesterday but my day was spent going from the conference to an event my job was running, and the few precious moments I had were spent looking through Coach.com's handbag
selection in
search of the
perfect business tote. After several candidates were selected and rejected, I finally settled on The One, and spent the rest of my downtime looking at this beauty in complete adoration.

Just the thought of putting my portfolio and project proposals (all neatly filed in leather bound presentation binders, of course!) in this New Patent Book Tote made me smile the way I know I would smile every day that I unzipped the smooth black patent leather and saw the beautiful robin's egg blue interior. Too bad it costs $368.

Just imagining including this gorgeous bag in my future makes me so happy. And also makes me want to look at shoes.

Until next time.

An Open Letter...

Dear Clothes, Shoes, and Accessories, etc. that will be on this blog,

Right now I don't have the funds to buy you. Believe me, there is nothing I want more than to be able to afford you, but sadly that is not reality right now.

But don't despair, sweet garments, because I am making you a promise: if you end up on this blog, that means that one of these days, once I land a good-paying job, I will rescue you from the shackles of stockroom slavery and I will take you home with me, where you can roam free in my spacious closets and graze in my plush jewelery boxes, and all I ask for in return is to make me look my best, but also to let me love you and take care of you the way you deserve to be, and every once in a while let me show you off to my friends.

Sincerely and with love,
Gabrielle
